Storm Damage Restoration Contractor in Flemington, NJ
When a storm takes the roof or the siding off your house, one crew secures the property, documents every damaged surface for the claim, and rebuilds it.

The situation
Why homeowners start this project
A bad night of weather in Hunterdon County can strip shingles off a slope, crack a whole elevation of siding, or drop a limb straight through a roof deck. The damage is obvious. What to do next usually is not.
Two clocks start at once. The property keeps taking on water until it is stabilized, and the insurance claim needs documentation before anything is cleaned up or replaced.
Homeowners get caught in between: storm chasers knocking on the door, an adjuster scheduled a week out, and rain in the forecast.
What we do
Ariel's Construction & Home Improvement handles disaster restoration for homes in Flemington and across Central New Jersey. We start with emergency stabilization, tarping an open roof, boarding a broken opening, clearing debris, so the damage stops spreading.
Then we document. Photos of every damaged slope and elevation, measurements, material identification, and a line-item scope written the way an adjuster reads one. That record is what your claim is decided on.
From there the same team rebuilds: roof deck, underlayment and shingles, house wrap and siding, trim, gutters, framing, and any interior repair the water reached, through the final walkthrough.
We are a licensed general contractor, not a public adjuster. We document construction scope and perform the work. We do not negotiate your settlement or interpret policy language.
What the work typically includes

- Roof deck, underlayment, flashing and shingle replacement

- Interior repairs: drywall, insulation, flooring and paint
- Final walkthrough and punch list
Planning notes
What to plan for before we start
Insurance claims for roof damage
Most homeowner policies cover sudden roof damage from a named peril, wind, hail, falling trees or fire, while wear, age and deferred maintenance are excluded. That distinction is where roof claims are won or lost, so the documentation has to show storm damage rather than an old roof. We photograph lifted, creased and missing shingles, hail bruising on the mat, damaged ridge caps, bent flashing and dented gutters or vents, note the date of loss, and record whether the damage is repairable by slope or requires full replacement because the shingle is discontinued or the deck is compromised. Policies pay either actual cash value, which subtracts depreciation, or replacement cost, which releases the held-back depreciation once the work is complete and invoiced, so the paperwork at the end matters as much as the inspection at the start. Report the loss promptly, keep the damaged material until the adjuster has seen it, and be wary of anyone asking you to sign over your claim.
How natural-disaster coverage reaches siding damage
Siding is part of the dwelling, so the same storm that damages a roof usually puts the siding under the same coverage. Wind that tears panels loose, hail that cracks or punctures vinyl, wind-driven debris, and fallen limbs are typically covered perils; flood damage is not, it falls under a separate flood policy. Siding claims turn on two questions. First, is the damage storm-related, hail leaves a distinct crack or puncture pattern on the impact-facing elevations rather than uniform fading and chalking. Second, can the damaged panels be matched, when a discontinued color or profile cannot be reasonably matched, many policies allow replacement of the full elevation or the continuous run rather than a patchwork repair. We document each elevation separately with direction of impact, record the manufacturer and profile where it is legible, and check the sheathing and house wrap underneath, because wind-driven rain behind cracked siding is often the more expensive damage.
Before you sign anything
After a major storm, out-of-area crews arrive fast. Ask for a New Jersey home improvement contractor registration number and proof of insurance, and do not sign an assignment of benefits or a contract contingent on your claim amount without reading exactly what you are giving up.
Expect the scope to grow
Rot in the roof deck and water behind the house wrap only appear after tear-off. Those items are documented and submitted as supplements, which is normal on storm work rather than a sign something went wrong.
