The barn before

This barn sits on a working property in Califon. Its white paint was peeling everywhere — siding, sliding doors, gable and fascia — leaving bare wood open to the weather.

Prep first

We scraped the loose paint off the board-and-batten siding and doors, then spot-primed bare wood so the new coats would bond and last.

Barn red and white

The owners chose a traditional look: barn red on the siding and bright white on the trim, corner boards, door frames and the X-pattern gable vent. The flag on the sliding door stayed as the barn's centerpiece.
