The space
A large primary bathroom with dark stone-look tile, a glass shower, a freestanding tub and a long light-wood double vanity — plus a separate water closet and a downstairs powder room.
The paint
We painted the walls a soft blue-gray that balances the dark tile and warm wood, and finished the ceilings, baseboards, casings and doors in white. Every edge along tile, cabinetry and glass was cut in by hand.
In the powder room, light gray walls let the navy vanity, brass fixtures and oval mirror stand out.
After
The finished house
Photographed after the rebuild was complete.
Clean cut lines against tile and cabinetry are what make a bathroom paint job look finished.
